The Central Carolina Community College Foundation hosts its first Harnett County Golf Classic on March 20 at Chicora Golf Club, in Dunn. Golfers are invited to participate in this afternoon of fun and fellowship for a good cause, with proceeds primarily benefiting CCCC students. In 2013, the Foundation held only one Golf Classic, in Lee County, which raised more than $37,000 for student scholarships and other needs in the college's three-county service area of Chatham, Harnett and Lee. The Harnett County foursome of (from left) Kevin McDougald, Robbie Campbell, Chan Campbell, and Rex Brown, were among the teams participating in 2013. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with, but independent of, the college. It receives donations of money and equipment on behalf of CCCC and uses them to promote the educational mission of the college and assist students through scholarships and grants. For information on giving to the Foundation or its fund-raising events, contact Emily Hare, director of the CCCC Foundation and Development Office, 919-718-7230 or ehare@cccc.edu.
