Santa Claus will be at the Central Carolina Community College Foundation's Dec. 5 Christmas Tree Lighting. The jolly old elf invites the community to come. Have a picture taken with Santa, as Celia Hurley (left), CCCC vice president of Institutional Advancement, and CCCC President Dr. Bud Marchant (right), did at the event in 2012. The pictures will be put on the college's web site, where they can be downloaded for free. The Southern Lee Marching Band will perform, refreshments will be served, and ornaments will be distributed to children. The event takes place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Lee County Campus plaza, 1105 Kelly Drive, Sanford. For more information, contact Emily Hare at 919-718-7230 or ehare@cccc.edu or Rebecca Howington at 919-718-7320 or rhowington@cccc.edu
