Dance bands entertain at CCCC 50th

The Sanford-based The FOG Blues Band entertains at Central Carolina Community College’s 50th Anniversary celebration Saturday, July 23, at the college’s Emergency Services Training Center, 3000 Airport Road, Sanford. The band members are (front, from left) John “Big Dave” Martin and Robert “Quick Siler” Watson, and (back, from left) Cliff “Odell” Wheeler and Charles “Charlie Boy” Dycus. The free, family fun celebration runs from 3 p.m-9:30 p.m. with activities, music, fireworks and more. The FOG performs 7 p.m.-8 p.m. and again, following the event closing ceremony, from 8:30 p.m.-9 p.m.  Another band, The Souls, will entertain from 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m. For more information about Central Carolina Community College’s 50th Anniversary celebration, visit www.cccc.edu/50years.

The Souls Band entertains with variety dance music at Central Carolina Community College’s 50th Anniversary celebration Saturday, July 23, at the college’s Emergency Services Training Center, 3000 Airport Road, Sanford. Erin Baker (pictured), female lead vocalist, also plays keyboard and percussion. Other members of the band, which performs internationally, are Tony Baker and Rick Dixon, both on vocals and keyboards. The free, family fun celebration runs from 3 p.m-9:30 p.m. with activities, music, fireworks and more.
