Jim Felton (right), of Sanford, was honored at his Feb. 22 retirement reception by college, business, and state leaders. Felton recently retired as director of Central Carolina Community College’s Small Business Center in Lee County and the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Dr. George Millsaps (left), director of the North Carolina Small Business Center Network and N.C. assistant commissioner for Small Business, presented a certificate of appreciation to Felton from Gov. Beverly Perdue for his “dedication and outstanding service to the Great State of North Carolina.” Felton had served as director of the SBC and Civic Center since 1995, leading them to benefit the people of Lee County and the county’s economic development.
