Thrill at the brilliance and excitement of traditional Chinese performing arts as the Student Art Group from Xiamen University, Fujian Province, People’s Republic of China, lights up the stage of the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. The performers celebrate the Chinese “Year of the Rabbit,” with a spring festival gala of authentic dances, costumes, instruments, and martial arts. The show starts at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, in the Civic Center, 1801 Nash St., Sanford. Tickets are $5 per person. Advance ticket reservation is recommended by calling (919) 718-7268. The performance is another in a series of Chinese cultural events sponsored by Central Carolina Community College’s Confucius Classroom and North Carolina State University’s Confucius Institute.
