CCCC’s new Siler City Center celebrated

Education, government and community leaders and members gathered Monday, Nov. 15, for the ribbon cutting/open house for Central Carolina Community College’s new Siler City Center in the Central Carolina Business Campus industrial park, in Siler City. Cutting the ribbon are (front, from left) Chatham Commissioner and CCCC Trustee Carl Thompson, CCCC Board of Trustees Chairman Ed Garrison, Siler City Mayor Charles Johnson, Chatham Board of Commissioners Chair Sally Kost, CCCC President Bud Marchant (wielding the scissors), CCCC Chatham Basic Skills Coordinator Sara Lambert, and CCCC Chatham Provost Karen Allen; and (back, from left) N.C. Education, government and community leaders and members gathered Monday, Nov. 15, for the ribbon cutting/open house for Central Carolina Community College’s new Siler City Center. It is first facility in the western part of Chatham County built specifically for the college. The two-story, 23,800 square-foot Center is located on a 41-acre wooded site in the Central Carolina Business Campus. It is one of only a handful of North Carolina community college centers in an industrial park. The facility will provide basic skills, adult education, workforce training, curriculum, and enrichment classes.

Sally Kost (at podium), chair of the Chatham County Board of Commissioners, welcomes education, government, and community leaders and members to the Nov. 15 ribbon cutting/open house for Central Carolina Community College’s new 23,800 square-foot Siler City Center in the Central Carolina Business Campus. The Center will enable the college to offer expanded basic skills, adult education, workforce training, curriculum, and enrichment classes for residents of the western Chatham County area. In doing so, it is expected to promote economic development and job growth in that area.
