Proud administrators, faculty and students display two banners that Lee Early College has received from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction for its academic achievement during the 2009-10 school year. The banner on the left, held by (from left) Lee County Schools Superintendent Jeff Moss, Central Carolina Community College President Bud Marchant, and LEC 2009-10 SGA President Shakeel Harris, honors the school for achieving School of Distinction ranking. The banner on the right, held by (from center right) LEC Teacher of the Year Tonya Comeaux, LEC 2010-11 SGA President Gloribel Vanegas, and LEC Principal Robert Biehl, honors the school for high performance. Lee Early College, a collaboration of Lee County Public Schools and the college, is located on the college’s Lee County Campus. Students complete requirements for both their high school diploma and an associate degree or two years of university transfer credit in four to five years.
