Portrait shot of President Garrett

President Matt Garrett of Central Carolina Community College retires as of Sept. 1 after 21 years with the college. He has jokingly said that, over the years, he has done almost every job at the college except mow the grass. He recently corrected that deficiency by mounting one of college’s large mowers at the Lee County Campus and mowing a large swath of lawn.

Central Carolina Community College’s spring graduation in May was very special to college President Matt Garrett (left). It was his last graduation prior to his retirement Sept. 1 after 21 years with the college, four as president. He also had the joy of seeing his son, M. Steven Garrett Jr. (right), receive his degree in Industrial Systems Technology.
