Progress Energy presents $30,000 grant to CCCC

The Progress Energy Foundation presented a $30,000 grant check to Central Carolina Community College Jan. 7 to furnish energy efficiency/green building and renewable energy laboratories in the college’s Sustainable Technologies Classroom/Lab Building at the Chatham County Campus, in Pittsboro. The $4 million, 18,000-square-foot building is scheduled for completion in fall 2010. At the check presentation were college representatives (from left) Carl Thompson, Chatham County director of Continuing Education; Laura Lauffer, Sustainability coordinator; Chatham Provost Karen Allen; and President Bud Marchant receiving the check from Rodney Gaddy (second from right), Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc.’s vice president for its Northern Region and Marty Clayton, region manager for Community Relations.
