CCCC trains Lean Six Sigma instructors

Community College instructors from around North Carolina are learning to teach Lean Six Sigma principles for workplace productivity and efficiency to others at Train the Trainer seminars at Central Carolina Community College. Among them are (from left), Rick Smith, of Coastal Carolina Community College, Gary Baldwin, of Sandhills Community College, and T.J. Haney, of Craven Community College, who are reviewing a Value Stream Map, a process for approving contracts. LSS is a workplace and management analysis and improvement process. Those trained at CCCC will return to their colleges and train others to work with business and industry in becoming more productive and efficient. CCCC’s Industry Services Office, N.C. State University College of Textiles, and the N.C. Community College System’s Customized Training Program are collaborating on the Train the Trainer program.
