CCCC Jonesboro Center honors teachers

September is Teacher Appreciation Month and students at the Jonesboro Center of Central Carolina Community College hosted a ‘Faculty Appreciation Day’ Sept. 24. The event included poetry, art, and comments by the students to show the instructors that they make a difference for the betterment of the individual, community, country, and humankind. Among those honored were: (from left) Evangeline Smith, Basic Skills coordinator; instructors Ivory Bouknight, Michael Cameron, Patti Cole, Latasha Dean, William Edwards, Judith Hancock, John Harrington, Clara Hickey, Cynthia McEachin, Cheryl Spears, Kevin Pearson, Elke Lutz, James Moore, Edna Ryan, Albia Reavis, Loria Payne, Sheryl Smith, and Denise Stroud; Sue Tipton, Basic Skills counselor; and instructor Barbara Turner. Instructors not pictured are Sadia Durrani, Eileen Harrington, and Hazel S. Tysor. The Jonesboro Center offers the college’s Adult High School/GED, English as a second language, Compensatory Education, and Human Resources Development programs in Lee County.
