CCCC celebrates summer graduation

Central Carolina Community College President Bud Marchant (left) awards Bonnie Pope, of Harnett County, her Medical Assisting Diploma during the college’s Summer Graduation Commencement Exercises Aug. 6 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Pope was one of three student speakers for the event and was also honored for having one of the highest grade point averages in the graduating class.

Friends Michael Parker (left), of Sanford, and Sara Bristol, of Pittsboro, hold their degrees proudly following their graduation from Central Carolina Community College Aug. 6 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Bristol received her A.A.S. in Veterinary Medical Technology. Parker received his A.A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Parker lost his hearing as a young child due to illness but received a cochlear implant at age 3 to restore partial hearing. Carol Habeeb (not pictured), his speech teacher since kindergarten, was on hand to help celebrate his graduation from CCCC.

Andrew Kudlak and his wife, Alison, are all smiles after Kudlak received his A.A.S. in Machining Technology-Tool, Die and Mold Making during Central Carolina Community College’s summer graduation Aug. 6 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Kudlak, of Cumberland County, was also one of the student speakers for the event. He plans to continue his education at Central Carolina C.C. to earn a Mechanical Engineering Technology degree.
