Four students in Central Carolina Community College’s Cosmetology in Spanish program brought home a first place trophy from the Primary Color Student Competition at the N. C. State Beautician and Cosmetology Association’s April 20 Convention in Fayetteville. Team members were (from left) Andrea Suarez and Ana Martine, both of Fuquay-Varina, instructor Ida Cruz, and students Jesica Cortes, of Raleigh, and Maria Vargas, of Cameron. The competition required the members of each team to develop a total look featuring one of the primary colors, yellow, red or blue. The team from Cruz’s class at the Harnett County Campus chose to go red from head to toe. Each team modeled its look and Central Carolina’s team won. Cosmetology in Spanish is offered through Continuing Education at the Harnett Campus, in Lillington, and the college’s School of Cosmetology, in Dunn.
