JobsNOW/Quick Jobs is a workforce development program designed to train or re-train unemployed adults who may have lost jobs through layoffs, downsizing, and plant closures. The goal is to put North Carolinians back to work as quickly as possible. JobsNOW focuses on job training that can be completed in a few weeks to six months. Workers with job skills are needed by employers. Based on labor market statistics, the affordable training prepares for employment in high-demand occupations.
In addition to job skills, the students may complete Career Readiness Certification (CRC) by earning the North Carolina Career Readiness Certificate which allows students to obtain additional certification to complement resumes and highlight other skills needed for employment. Students who complete JobsNOW training are given the additional skills necessary to become more desirable candidates in the workforce. JobsNOW training candidates have access to career readiness certification, workplace skills development, skills assessment, career exploration, and college placement testing through the Human Resources Development (HRD) Program for career enhancement.
