JobsNOW is a program in Continuing Education under the Economic & Community Development Division
In response to our current economic climate, Governor Bev Perdue created the "JobsNOW: 12 in 6 project." JobsNOW: 12 in 6 is a workforce development program designed to retrain the unemployed, particularly those who have lost jobs through layoffs, downsizing, and plant closures. The goal is to put North Carolinians back to work as quickly as possible and boost the state's economy. JobsNOW at Central Carolina Community College focuses on job training that can be completed in a few weeks to six months. Workers with these job skills are in demand based on labor market statistics.
In addition to course completion, the students will complete Career Readiness Certification (CRC), which allows students to stand out in the crowd. Students who complete JobsNOW training are given the additional skills necessary to become a more desirable candidate in the workforce.
This initiative is supported by the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act, Department of Commerce, Division of Workforce Development, Local Workforce Development Board, and the North Carolina Community College System.
