The Purpose of the Sustainability Committee

The Sustainability Council determines and promotes the most efficient, cost effective and environmentally friendly methods of conserving resources. The Council also encourages sustainable college policies, procedures and planning and builds sustainability awareness among CCCC faculty, staff, and students.

The Goals of the Sustainability Committee

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • Reduce natural resource consumption (energy, fuel, paper, water)
  • Reduce air, water, and soil pollution
  • Protect and promote environmental health for CCCC employees and students
  • Promote environmental awareness and education among faculty, staff and student body
  • Support faculty to integrate sustainable topics into instructional programs
  • Recommend improvements in organizational and physical infrastructure to support sustainability
  • Connect with those outside the college by communicating internal sustainability efforts to external community

The Sustainability Subcommittees include Transportation, Curriculum, Facilities, Outreach/Inreach, and Policies & Procedures
