Ursula White

"I credit Central Carolina Community College for molding me into the nurse I have become today"

Ursula White

Central Carolina Home Healthcare, Owner

Ursula White went from Central Carolina Community College Nursing graduate to owning her own home health care business in just three short, but busy, years.

Ursula received her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) in May 2008 and started her career working in the Intensive Care Unit at Cape Fear Medical Center and, later, Scotland Memorial Hospital. She also worked for a time in the Emergency Room at Central Carolina Hospital.

"Although I loved the ICU, I wanted to try something different in nursing," Ursula said, "so I ventured out into home health and I love it!"

She said she loves the autonomy, the flexibility, making a difference in a completely different environment, and having the patients become like family.

"With my love of home care, I thought, what a difference I could make if I actually owned and managed my own home health agency," she said. "Very few home health agencies in Cumberland and the surrounding areas are nurse owned and nurse managed."

Her agency, Central Carolina Home Healthcare, which opened in 2011, is licensed by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. It offers home care to disabled children, disabled and chronically ill adults, and the elderly.

"I credit Central Carolina Community College for molding me into the nurse I have become today," Ursula said. "My wonderful Nursing instructors never gave up on me and always believed in me. The name of my company is in honor of the one of the best schools in this state! Because of CCCC, I own a home health agency, have touched many lives, and strive to make a difference in my community every day."
