"When I look at the jobs I've been able to get over the years, it all started with my [CCCC] degree."
Project Management Professional Contractor
After 29 years, Robert Watson still fondly recalls his years as a Central Carolina Community College student. He graduated from Lee County High School in 1980 and enrolled at the college, then known as Central Carolina Technical College.
Robert graduated with an Associate in Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology in 1982, looking forward to a career in electronics repair. That training was so in demand that ITT telecommunications hired him while he was still finishing his last quarter of classes. He worked for them for several years, then moved to Nortel, where he had a 25-year career. He also obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Now, Robert works from his own home, in Sanford, as a PMP, contracting with companies to manage telecommunications equipment.
"I enjoyed CCCC," he said. "It was time well spent, absolutely. When I look at the jobs I've been able to get over the years, it all started with my two-year degree. I would recommend CCCC - it has a lot to offer."
