GED (General Education Diploma)
Is your lack of a high school education keeping you from a better job or advanced education?
Then come to Central Carolina Community College and earn a General Education Diploma. The GED program prepares you to take a series of tests that demonstrate you have attained the basic skills of a high school graduate - without having to attend four years of regular high school!
All the classes are free! The only requirements to enroll are being at least 16 and having the desire to complete your high school education. Classes are held in Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
When you start the GED program, you will be evaluated and an educational plan developed to help you succeed. Teachers and tutors will provide encouragement and help as you learn the material for each test. There is no required length of time to study before taking a test. Each is taken when you feel you are ready for it.
The GED tests are in each of the five general areas of learning: Writing, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts/Reading, and Mathematics.
After passing the five GED tests, you will receive a General Educational Diploma from the North Carolina Community College System - and move into your future with a better education and more self-confidence.
