Please Note: If you do not plan to seek a degree at CCCC, but you only wish to take a course as transfer credit, choose that you want to be a "Special Credit" student on your application.
- If you would like to earn a degree, diploma, or certificate, please send an official high school transcript or have a copy of your GED scores sent to the Admissions Office. If you have previous college credit, please send official college transcripts as well.
Please Note: Special credit students must only submit official transcripts if the course you plan to take has a pre-requisite you've taken at another college.
- Complete Central Carolina Community College's placement test requirement. This requirement must be fulfilled by taking the Computerized Placement Test (CPT) administered by CCCC unless you qualify for an exemption. Please contact Student Services at (919) 718-7300 or toll free at 1-800-682-8353 ext. 7300 to schedule a time to take the placement test.
- Attend CCCC's open registration one of our three campuses. In Sanford go to the Dennis Wicker Civic Center. In Lillington and Pittsboro, please visit the Student Services department. At open registration you can meet with an advisor, register, and pay for courses. Distance students who are out of the service area may call the Distance Education department to register for classes.
- Visit the Bookstore to purchase textbooks and other required course materials. If you are outside of our service area, or are unable to visit one of our three campus bookstores, please call the Bookstore at (919) 718-7275 or toll free at 1-800-682-8353 ext. 7275 to request books be shipped to you.
- If one or more of your courses requires cassettes/DVDs to be checked out from our library, you may visit one of our campus libraries to get these materials. The tapes are house at the Lee Campus but can be sent to the other campus libraries for pick-up. If you live outside of our service area or are unable to visit one of the three campus libraries, please contact the Library at (919) 718-7244 or toll free at 1-800-682-8353 ext. 7244 to have tapes/DVDs shipped to you.
- All distance education courses require a course-specific orientation. If a student fails to complete an orientation, he/she will be dropped from the course. After completing the course-specific orientation(s), you will have the information needed to be successful in your distance course(s).
