Dental Hygiene

Patient Information

Becoming a Patient

The Dental Hygiene Clinic, through the Central Carolina Community College Dental Programs, operates Tuesday and Thursday in the Fall and Summer semesters, and Monday through Thursday in the Spring semester, by appointment only. Under instructor supervision, the program's dental hygiene students provide all services.

The clinic offers dental cleanings and x-rays to adults and children ages three and up. Currently, we do not charge for our services, but there is a stringent cancellation/no-show policy.

Appointments are three hours long and held during students' clinical class time. On average, it takes two or three appointments to complete a patient's care.

There are no income, insurance, or residency requirements. We do not provide restorative services such as fillings, crowns, root canals, or extractions. Typically, our services are ones provided by a hygienist in a dental office setting.

A dentist reviews patient x-rays, which will be made available for referrals.
