Health Information Technology

Accreditation

The Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S) degree, Health Information Technology Program at Central Carolina Community College is currently in Application status with the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). Six months from graduation, in November of 2017, we will formally submit our application for candidacy and will begin the accreditation process. Once the accreditation process is completed, our graduates will be eligible to sit for the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification offered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). The accreditation process typically takes eighteen to twenty-four months to complete, depending on CAHIIM's schedule.
