Accreditation

The Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S) degree, Health Information Technology at Central Carolina Community College is currently in Candidacy Status, pending accreditation review by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).

In November of 2017, we formally submitted our application for candidacy and started the accreditation process. Once the accreditation process is completed, our graduates will be eligible to sit for the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification offered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). The accreditation process typically takes eighteen to twenty-four months to complete, depending on CAHIIM's schedule.
