"Because of CCCC...."
Meet CCCC Scholarship Recipient, Tim Haggie
Name: Tim Haggie
From: Lumber Bridge, NC via Memphis, TN
Program of Study: Associates in Arts
Campus Involvement: Men's Basketball
Scholarship Received: $1,000 J. Mack and Eula Mae Auman Scholarship
See it through Tim's eyes:
"Throughout the summer 2011, I had a few options about where to attend college. I decided to attend CCCC to play basketball thinking I might be able to receive a basketball scholarship. After finding out there were no athletic scholarships, I applied for financial aid because my family cannot afford to pay out of pocket. I found out that the CCCC Foundation awarded scholarships, and I applied for one, wrote the required essay, and was blessed to received the J. Mack and Eula Mae Auman Scholarship.
The support of the CCCC Foundation has helped in a numerous ways. It took stress off of my mother to pay for all of my school and assisted with my housing. It helped in so many other ways I can’t discuss because it would get a little too personal. I would highly encourage others to give back to the school to help young individuals with bright futures like myself. I intend on giving back myself when I become an alumnus, transfer to a four-year university, and then begin my career in sports medicine. Thanks to all alumni who give back. Because of CCCC, I will make a difference, and receiving this scholarship was truly a blessing."

An Alumnus Success Story....
Accomplishing his dreams
Meet Wesley Seawell
"The education I received helped me to show my abilities and gave me a new sense of pride and accomplishment."
After six years of active duty with the U.S. Army, including two tours in Iraq, Wesley Seawell was ready to go to college. The Goldston resident decided to enroll at Central Carolina Community College, earn an Associate in Arts-University Transfer, and continue his education at a university.
"The military helped instill in me a sense of discipline and good study habits, setting me up for success," Wesley said. "The leadership and communication skills I learned in the Army were sharpened by my time as a Student Ambassador for the college."
Wesley graduated from Central Carolina Community College in May 2009. He attended Campbell University on a Presidential Scholarship and received his bachelor's degree in political science in 2011. Now he is actively pursuing his interests in politics and the political process.
"I really liked what I saw at Central Carolina, and I wasn't disappointed - great education, great staff, great facilities," Wesley said. "The education I received helped me to show my abilities and gave me a new sense of pride and accomplishment. I am well on my way to accomplishing my dreams."
