CCCC Admissions

All students will meet with an Admissions Specialists for an initial advising and registration appointment to build their first semester schedule. For all future semester advising sessions, students will meet with their Academic Advisor. For Pre-Health Science students, your Advisor will be your Admissions Specialists until you are admitted to your program.

All Students will continue to visit an admissions counselor when:

  • Dropping or adding a course during the Drop/Add period
  • Withdrawing from a course
  • Changing your program

Admissions Specialists are here to help you choose the best career pathway, connect you to all the resources and services available to you, and to ensure that you have completed all necessary items in order to start your academic program and find success at CCCC. Derek is a proud product of the community college system having earned his AA in History at East Georgia College. He has since earned degrees in History and Russian at the University of Georgia and Georgia Southern University. He taught for 10 years in high school and community colleges in Virginia and North Carolina. Derek joined CCCC in the fall of 2017 to work with pre-nursing students. In his spare time, you will find Derek volunteering with the Boy Scouts, his church, and exploring the rich history of North Carolina with his wife.

Daniel received his BA in English with a concentration in Journalism from North Carolina State University. He's currently pursuing an MBA with East Carolina University. Aside from working in Admissions, Daniel serves as a first-year seminar instructor for CCCC. Previously, he served as a Distance Education Advisor, a Success Coach, and Math Instructor for Guided Studies. Daniel has worked for CCCC since 2012 and enjoys helping students achieve their academic and career goals. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys exercising, hiking, SUP, attending live sporting/music events and spending time with his family and friends.

Cricket has over 30 years’ experience in higher education in admissions counseling, teaching, and adult literacy. She enjoys helping students achieve their academic and career goals.

Aaron grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina and attended college not far from home. His college experience was influential in his career path, as he was involved in a number of student organizations on UNCP's campus. In 2008, he graduated with a BA in Sociology and continued his education by completing a Master degree in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University (Boston, MA) in 2012. After working in higher education as a graduate student, his interest changed to helping students gain more access to higher education. At home, he and his wife have one mischievous little girl named Maddison. They enjoy running, traveling, watching baseball, and going to the movies.

Adam received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and also earned a Master of Arts in College Student Development from Appalachian State University. Adam has experience working with students at both 2-year and 4-year institutions. Adam joined CCCC in 2015 and loves working with students to discover their path. In his spare time, Adam enjoys running, spending time with friends and family, cooking, and traveling.

Trinnette Nichols Jones received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Francis Marion University and also earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from Webster University. Trinnette has 14 years of experience working in higher education assisting with recruiting, distance education counseling, admissions counseling and testing. Trinnette has been serving as Director of Student Services at the Harnett Main Campus for the past 7 years, which also includes advising the Student Government Association. Trinnette enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, walks in the park as well as time with extended family and friends.

Rhonda is originally a Florida native, but has lived in North Carolina for several years. She attended the University of South Florida where she graduated with a Bachelor of Art in Communication Disorders. Rhonda also earned her Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. She joined CCCC in 2010 and is passionate about providing student services. Some of her primary responsibilities at the Chatham campus includes advising students’ pursuing a health allied curriculum, the home school Career and College Promise program, and the Student Government Association.

Ramona has been in the education field for over 25 years. She started her career at her alma mater, Wake Forest University. She also worked at UNC-Chapel Hill in the School of Journalism before coming to CCCC. She has been with the college for almost 15 years. She has gained experience with private and public institutions and now with the community college system. She started her career at CCCC in the Continuing Education Division.
